WHY I'M BUILDING BRIEF

January 20, 2026

When I started this project, I knew I wanted to build something around email, calendar, and AI. The first idea was super simple: just an agent that could triage my inbox and tell me what actually needs attention.

From there I added a summarization step so I could get the gist of things without opening every message. With that in mind, I made some early designs in Figma and aimed for a really minimal look. Not too much going on, just the essentials.

Here are some of the design elements and concepts:

Since this was mostly for me, I didn’t want to over-engineer it. No database, no heavy auth, no production setup yet. Just a simple loop running locally that pulls in my email and calendar and gives me a daily brief.

I wanted it to feel lightweight and personal instead of like a full SaaS product. In the future I’d love to add a real URL and polish it up more.

I also started thinking about where this could go next. One idea I’m excited about is an extension that collects visual inspiration from places like Pinterest, Cosmos, and other design sites and feeds that into the brief too.

The whole project has been about building something I’d actually use every day and letting it grow naturally from there.
